Introduction
I became a librarian because I can think of no other career in
which you get such a wide exposure to all aspects of recorded
knowledge. After earning an undergraduate degree at Trinity University,
a master’s degree in history from the University of Virginia, and a
library degree from Indiana University, I worked in a circuitous route
through libraries at several large research universities, but have
always been happiest in a liberal arts setting. I am now happily
ensconced at Rollins as the Head of Public Services and the Business
librarian. I came by my business experience the old fashioned way,
through co-owning and being the chief research assistant for a number of
small companies over the years. I teach an RCC called Cowboys, Aliens, and Vampires: A Study of Popular Fiction. Outside of librarianship, I write historical novels under the pseudonym Elizabeth Camden.
